Introducing the FSPY Mobile App

We have launched the “Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA” mobile app, available for Apple and Android Devices. With our app, you can receive the latest FSPY news and updates, facility information, classes and schedules, programs and more. Simply go to the App Store or Google Play, download the app, set the preferences to allow for notifications and be on your way to having the latest, up-to-date FSPY information. We are excited to debut our new video featuring our own staff and members! Thank you to all of those who helped with and starred in our video. It shows how the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is more than a gym, how we’re part of something bigger and work each and every day to strengthen our community. We are a charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of the individuals and families we serve, with a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. New! Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program

For those in our community who are diagnosed with high blood pressure, our new Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program may be able to help. We are enrolling now for this evidence-based program that features personalized support, tips for maintaining heart health and nutrition education. New Swim Program, New Names!

The Y has been “America’s Swim Instructor for over 100 years. This latest evolution of Y Swim Lessons is designed to welcome students of varying and diverse abilities to ensure that everyone feels like they belong and foster a sense of achievement from the start. The program emphasizes group activities to encourage relationship building and allows students to flow easily from one skill to the next with clearly defined stages of progress along the way. Fall I Registration – Begins Saturday,
August 18th

Fall Registration is just around the corner! Don’t miss out on your favorite FSPY programs. Now, registration will be taking place on SATURDAYS starting at 6:30am both online and in-person. Member Registration beings Saturday, August 18th, and Community Registration begins Saturday, August 25th. Our Fall program brochure is currently available online here.

Labor Day
Monday, September 3, 2018

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will be closed on Labor Day. We hope you enjoy your holiday and we look forward to seeing you on  Tuesday, September 4th for the start of our Fall I Session.

Free MD On Call program
Next session: Tuesday, August 28th

We are excited to work  with Overlook Family Practice to provide the community with our new MD on Call program. Medical education and screenings will be provided by second and third year Family Medicine Residents from the Overlook Family Medicine Residency Program. MD On Call takes place every other Tuesday from 9:00am-11:00am at FSPY.

Preschool & School Age Child Care –
Registration Ongoing

At FSPY, we have programs to meet your childcare and education needs. Our School Age Child Care program is based in Scotch Plains-Fanwood elementary and middle schools and features both before and after school care. Learn more about School Age Child Care here. Our Preschool programs will help ready your child for full-time elementary school. Our part-time options include Toddler Plus for children who will be 2.5 years old, and Three Day 3s, for children who will be 3 years old by 10/1/18. Learn more about our Preschool Programs here.

7th Grade Initiative –
Registration Ongoing

The 7th Grade Initiative program supports and encourages kids to make good decisions and form healthy habits that lead to a healthy lifestyle. By giving them a free one-year Y membership, it provides opportunities for fitness, sports and socializing with peers in a safe, supervised environment. This is open to incoming 7th graders in Clark, Fanwood and Scotch Plains. For more information, click here
