American Red Cross Lifeguarding

LIFEGUARDING CERTIFICATION COURSE

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies as well as the knowledge to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel can take over. On successful completion of the pre-course (swim assessment), the instructor will notify participants who met the minimum requirements to register for the full course at the FSPY Welcome Center. Participants who successfully complete the lifeguarding certification course will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. Participants should be at least 15 years old.

Please register for the pretest first. Upon completion, you will be instructed to register for the full course.

  • Classroom/Pool: January 22, 4:00-10:00pm, January 23 and 44, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pre-test: Friday, February 6, 6:45 pm- 8:450 pm

  • Classroom/Pool: February 20, 4:00-10:00pm, February 21 and 22, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pre-test: Friday, February 27, 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm

  • Classroom/Pool: March 13, 4:00-10:00pm, March 14 and 15, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
LIFEGUARDING RECERTIFICATION

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies as well as the knowledge to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel can take over. Participants who successfully complete the lifeguarding review course will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. The Recertification Course is not intended for those looking to become certified for the first time.

1-Day Lifeguard Recertification Course Schedule:

  • Saturday, March 28,  7:30 am – 5:00 pm
