Low Impact, Great Workout
Aquatic fitness classes at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA offer a great low-impact workout for adults of all ages. These programs are included with membership. Aquatic fitness classes are open to active Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA members ages 14 and over. Reservations are not required. DEEP WATER CARDIO
A challenging cardiovascular workout to enhance strength and flexibility with no impact on your joints, as you are suspended in deep water with a flotation belt. Class is designed for those who want to exercise at a high intensity.
GENTLE SHALLOW WATER
Specialized for those with arthritis or who are in need of a program to ease back into exercising. Help relieve the pain and stiffness of arthritis and improve range of motion by gently moving each joint in the water.
SHALLOW WATER WORKOUT
This moderate intensity class incorporates aerobic interval training, stretching and strengthening exercises.
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS WATER EXERCISE PROGRAM
If you’re living with MS, this water exercise program may help with building strength and enhancing your quality of life. Improve cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, endurance, flexibility, balance and relieve your MS-related fatigue. Taught by a certified National Multiple Sclerosis Society Instructor. This class is included with an active FSPY membership. Community members can participate in this program. Registration is required for this class.
