Swim Safely

SWIM LESSONS UPDATE AS OF JUNE 15, 2021: Beginning with our summer session, adults no longer need to accompany children in the water for our Water Acclimation, Movement and Stamina classes. Classes will be limited to 4-6 children, depending on the class, and the swim instructor will be back in the water with them. For questions about updates to our swim lessons program, please email edaudelin@fspymca.org.

The Y has been “America’s Swim Instructor” for over 100 years. This latest evolution of Y Swim Lessons is designed to welcome students of varying and diverse abilities to ensure that everyone feels like they belong and foster a sense of achievement from the start. The program emphasizes group activities to encourage relationship building and allows students to flow easily from one skill to the next with clearly defined stages of progress along the way.

Registration for summer swim lessons is ongoing at fspymca.org/register under “Daxko Program Registration.” This summer, we are offering two sessions of swim lessons. Session 1 will be held from June 28-July 31, 2021 and runs for 5 weeks. Session 2 runs from August 2-August 28, 2021 and runs for 4 weeks.

You must be an active member of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA to participate in swim lessons. Participants can currently register for one lesson per week per child.

We are currently offering limited programming. For more information on our current swim lessons offerings, please contact Ellen Daudelin at edaudelin@fspymca.org
