“I started lifeguarding in 2009, and I moved up from there. I’ve run up to 21 pools at one time and managed over 100 lifeguards. I’m also certified to teach lifeguarding through the American Red Cross.

Growing up, I learned to swim at the YMCA. I almost drowned when I was 6, and my parents put me in swim lessons at the Gloucester County YMCA in Woodbury, New Jersey. I later joined the swim team at my high school and was captain of the team.

I have loved the water since I started swim lessons as a kid, and I like helping people. I also went to school for marine biology. At the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y, I’m looking forward to learning and growing and meeting all the people here.”
