“I worked at the Y in after care a few years ago before COVID, and then came back to after care at Brunner this past October. This is my first summer working at camp. I really liked working at the Y when I was younger, and as I got older, I realized working with kids is something I want to do with my life. I’m in college now and I want to become a guidance counselor. I realized that the Y would be really good practice for that. I enjoy the bond that I have with these kids who are so sweet and funny. They are also teaching me about what’s to come in the future when I’m a parent.

My favorite thing about camp is the community I have found and the friends that I have gained. I enjoy being around people that have the same goals as me, hearing about what they are doing for college and learning about different resources. My favorite memory so far this summer is when it was really hot out and we all did water play. All the kids and counselors came together and had a water fight. It was so fun. It made me feel like a kid again.”
