“My family and I had been members of the Somerville YMCA for many years and when we moved to Scotch Plains, we joined here immediately. When I became certified as a yoga instructor, I immediately applied to work here. I am so happy to be a part of the Y, and I’m happy to bring restorative yoga, yin yoga and teen yoga to our community. Yoga is an amazing exercise, a beautiful practice for mind, body and spirit. It can enhance anyone’s exercise routine and really helps for mental health awareness as well. I like knowing that teaching yoga and meditation helps people to feel better and have overall better wellness. I get a lot of comments that people feel better and calmer, and that’s why they keep coming back to my classes. What I like most about working at the Y in general is the amazing staff that work there, always being greeted with a smile, and feeling like I am very welcome.”
