“I have been working here for almost a year. I previously worked in Fanwood and would always drive past the Y. I wanted to work somewhere that was a community-based gym environment. Families need time to exercise or use the pool. Since I’m a preschool teacher during the day, it was an easy transition to Child Watch. Plus, I didn’t want such a formal education setting after being in a formal setting all day. We have fun, play with toys and do arts and crafts projects here in Child Watch.

Now that it’s the new year – when people tend to exercise more – I’m hoping we can help even more families in Child Watch, especially since reservations are no longer needed. Now, more families can come on a whim and don’t have to decide 24 hours in advance and make a reservation. It’s easier for people to drop off their kids when they come to exercise.

At the Y, I like that everyone is excited to come to work or to work out. There is a sense of community here. Plus, my friend works in the Child Care department and since we both started working here, we work out more since we receive a membership to the Y as an employee. Everyone here is just very friendly and kind. I just like being here.”
