“I started out as a camp counselor and after care counselor for the YMCA in Springfield when I was in high school through college. I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and then went on to receive my master’s in teaching. While I was going to school for my master’s degree, I became a preschool teacher at the Berkeley Heights YMCA. When I graduated, I became a kindergarten teacher for The Goddard School. It was there that the director asked if I’d be interested in becoming a Child Care Director in the future. She started giving me administrative duties and I really loved it. Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a Child Care Director at several centers. At the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y, I’m looking forward to more community involvement and working for a larger organization, while also working with a bigger team. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the kids, the teachers and the families. So far, I like the team environment. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and supportive. Plus, a bit more about me: I’m local to the Scotch Plains area and I have a 5-year-old son named Jaxson. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books and traveling.”
