“I started working here in January and this is the first Y I’ve worked for. I used to belong to the Y in Union about 15 years ago and I always felt at home. I like that the Y has a sense of community and helps others. I stumbled across the job listing and it had everything I wanted. The proximity to home, it met my love for all things mechanical and fits with my skill set. My background is in plumbing and I worked for different plumbing companies for 20 years before I went into facilities and management. I’m looking forward to working on the building and keeping a high standard of safety. In my department, we work on everyday repairs, preventative maintenance and safety of the building, along with fulfilling members’ facility needs. So far, I feel at home here. I love the staff and the work. Time has been flying over this past month.”
