“We started coming to the Y in the summer of 2017. We moved to New Jersey in the beginning of that year. Morgan is a stay-at-home mom and started with parent and child dance and gymnastics classes, and Dave started with swim classes on the weekends. We decided to look at Preschool programs and the Y was one of the first ones we toured. Maya liked this one the most, she was the most comfortable here. I knew she would be safe and happy here and could continue with the dance and gymnastics classes which we love. It’s a good place for us to meet people, too. We’ve made friends with other families from Maya’s class and whenever we go out, Maya knows people in the community. She’s become very social. This was something we were actually worried about when she was in her 2s. We were concerned about her language development, one reason we signed her up for school. Now, we are just amazed by her language skills. She tells these stories and uses such creativity, and a lot of that has come from her being enrolled in the Y’s Preschool. We’re always so surprised and impressed by what she’s learning and how she’s paying attention. She loves science and came home one day and drew the Earth. There’s a wide variety of things she knows that we didn’t teach her. After we did the Toddler Plus program for 2 ½ year olds, we enrolled in Apple Seeds Summer Camp. We didn’t want to disrupt her learning over the summer. We also liked that a lot of the teachers stayed the same over the summer, and she loved the playground and water. She also loved her Best Summer Ever shirt and kept saying it was ‘the best summer ever.’ We just overall love the program because Maya is doing so well and thriving. And she is happy and enjoys going to school and is learning so much in such a fun environment that we couldn’t ask for anything better.”
