This Summer, make YOU a priority at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. We’re excited to offer a variety of programs for youth, teens and adults. Whether you’re interested in sports, swimming, health and fitness, weight loss, or looking to join a community of individuals with similar interests, we’ve got your covered.

Our Summer Session runs from June 27-August 28, 2022 and registration will begin on Monday, June 13 at 9:00am. Please note that a number of our programs such as swim lessons and youth sports are running in two sessions this Summer. Registration for both sessions begins June 13.

Registration is open to active members of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA and can be done online here under “Daxko Program Registration.”

Here are some program highlights: 

Swim Lessons: Our Swim Lessons are designed to welcome students of varying and diverse abilities to ensure that everyone feels like they belong, and to foster a sense of achievement from the start. We offer lessons for children ages 6 months and up through to adults. Registration for summer swim lessons is open to new and returning swim lesson participants. We will be holding two swim lesson sessions this summer: one in July, and one in August.

Health and Safety classes: This summer, we will continue to offer American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, along with a variety of Lifeguarding courses. These programs are open to our Y members and members of the community.

Youth Gymnastics: Gymnastics is a fun way for a child to develop motor skills, self-esteem, self-discipline and coordination. Our caring teachers encourage each gymnast to progress at their own pace – whether their goal is to someday be a competitive gymnast or just to have fun. This Summer, we will offer two 4-week sessions for kids ages 3 and up, along with Tuesday Event Clinics. These clinics offer gymnasts an opportunity to focus on one specific event per week. Gymnasts will work on specific event tricks at their skill level to attain skill mastery.

Youth Dance: We are excited to bring back preschool and youth dance classes. Our dance program aims to enhance the creativity of each individual through movement. We are offering a number of classes for kids ages 2.5 and up, aimed at introducing them to different techniques, building or enhancing skills and having fun!

Youth Sports: There’s sports of all sorts and something for everyone at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA! For preschoolers, we’re offering All Star Sports and Gym Games; for school age kids, we’re offering Floor Hockey and Basketball, and for teens, there’s Volleyball, Track Conditioning and our Have A Ball class featuring a variety of sports.

Teen Fitness: Introducing Generation Next, a program specifically for high school students focused on developing total body strength, endurance, overall athletic performance and teamwork. Exercises are designed to accelerate and improve overall athletic performance, while providing safe and proper exercise technique.
