Here are some program highlights:

Swim Lessons: We continue to offer swim lessons with classes for infants through adults,  focusing on improving skills and safety in and around the water. We offer classes for beginner through more advanced swimmers and recommend that those new to swim lessons, or who haven’t taken them recently, sign up for a swim evaluation prior to registering for lessons. This will help ensure that children are in the right class for their level.

Y’s Way to Wellness: This program is free to FSPY members that are looking for guidance, inspiration and accountability for getting back into a fitness routine or program. It provides an opportunity to sample some of the classes we offer such as Pilates, Total Conditioning, Cycle, HIIT and Yoga in a fun and informative setting with your small group and a wellness coach. In addition to exercise, it will also focus on other lifestyle factors that impact your health such as nutrition, blood pressure and stress.

Y Weight Loss Program: This program is based on lifestyle coaching, problem solving and goal setting to promote gradual and sustainable weight loss. Includes cooking demo and body composition analysis. Changing habits is a gradual process, let us help you be accountable! This program meets weekly for weigh-ins and a group class.

Youth Gymnastics: Gymnastics classes for toddlers through teens are back at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y this Fall! Gymnastics is a fun way for a child to develop motor skills, self-esteem, self-discipline and coordination. Providing the foundation for fitness and the fundamentals of movement, gymnastics prepares a child for participation in all sports and provides lifelong benefits to its participants. Our caring teachers encourage each gymnast to progress at their own pace – whether their goal is to someday be a competitive gymnast or just to have fun.

Youth Sports: A number of our fantastic and fun sports programs are being offered during the Fall 2 session. For preschoolers, we’re offering Preschool Basketball, Gym Ninja, Gym Games and Mini Ninja Warrior; for school aged kids, we’re offering Ninja Warrior, Basketball I and Basketball II and Teen Volleyball. High Schoolers can take part in our co-ed volleyball pick-up games. There’s sports of all sorts and something for everyone at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA!

Kids & Middle School Night Out: This Fall, we’re offering these two specialty youth programs open to members of our YMCA. Kids Night Out is for children in kindergarten through 4th grade. Parents get the opportunity to go out without the kids while they’re having a blast at the Y with a movie, pizza and free swim. Middle School Night Out is specifically tailored for grades 5-8 and revolves around socializing with friends and being active at the Y.

Preschool Programs: For kids ages 3-5, we offer preschool enrichment programs throughout the year to help them learn and thrive. During the Fall 2 Session, we are offering “Messy Fingers,” a class in which children will try different art techniques, as well as “Recycle & Create” that allows students to explore our earth in fun, eco-friendly ways.

Vacation Full Days: When school’s out, the Y is in. Our Vacation Full Days program is open to active FSPY members in grades kindergarten through 5 on most days that the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools are closed for the holidays or vacation days. The program runs from 7:00am-6:30pm at our main Y building and each day has its own theme. Registration for this program is currently open here under “Daxko Program Registration.”

We can’t wait to see you at the Y this fall!
