The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is excited to bring back its Jeremy’s Giving Tree program this year.
Each ornament on Jeremy’s Giving Tree has a gift from a child’s wish list – something to wear, something they need, something they want and something to read. FSPY members and staff are invited to take an ornament and fulfill a wish.
We will continue to add wishes to the tree as we receive them. Unwrapped gifts are due back to the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (1340 Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains) by Wednesday, December 14. Please include a note with the family’s number when dropping off the gifts so we know who it belongs to. We also will be collecting new, unused rolls of wrapping paper.
In addition, we are hosting a toy drive and will accept donations of new, unwrapped gifts for area children, ages newborn to 18 years old. Many children are in need, but have not specified their wishes and would be grateful for a gift this holiday season.
Thank you for helping us make the holidays brighter for our families!
Jeremy’s Giving Tree is in memory of a little boy who brightened lives as a part of our Y family. We suffered
the loss of a preschool student tragically in 2012, the week before Christmas. His name was Jeremy and he loved
coming to the Y. This holiday season, the Y is continuing the tradition started in Jeremy’s memory. Jeremy’s
Giving Tree affords our Y family the opportunity to provide local families in need of some wished for gifts.
