UPDATE: Starting April 12, reservations are no longer needed for early morning Wellness Center usage and will no longer be available in Acuity Scheduling. Our goal is to make Wellness Center usage as easy and convenient as possible for our members.
Our Wellness Center is open to active FSPY members ages 14 and over Monday through Friday from 6:15am-8:45pm and Saturdays from 7:15am-2:00pm. The Wellness Center will be closed from 12:00-12:30pm, Monday through Friday, for a deep cleaning.
We will continue to limit our Wellness Center to 50% capacity. If the Wellness Center is at this capacity, we will ask members entering the building to wait in a designated area until there is space available. Even though reservations are no longer need, we continue to remain vigilant with the health and safety of our staff and members as our top priority. We ask all members to continue to follow social distancing guidelines by staying 6 feet apart from others; to wear their masks at all times when in the YMCA building, and to wipe down their machines before and after each use. These policies will be enforced by our staff team.

Before your first visit, you will need to e-sign an updated membership Waiver and Code of Conduct. Click here to sign (you will need to enter the barcode number on your membership key tag and last name).
We have made many changes to the Wellness Center’s physical space and cleaning procedures with the health, safety and comfort of our members and staff in mind. GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
We are now offering indoor and outdoor group exercise classes to all of our active, full-facility members. We’re offering HIIT, Zumba, LaBlast, Defend Together, Pilates and more! You can read our guidelines for Outdoor Group Exercise classes here.
In addition, all virtual group exercise classes are now open to our active, full-facility members only. Before each virtual class, registrants will be emailed the link to join. We plan to keep offering these classes as we transition to more in-person offerings.
Indoor, outdoor and virtual group exercise classes are available by registration only. Members must register for each individual class they would like to take. Classes will be added thirteen (13) days out to our registration page here under “Acuity Scheduling.”
Outdoor classes are held in the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Parking Lot. Indoor classes are held in the Gym.

Personal Training and Fitness Consultations at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA are back! 1:1 Sessions are now available for our active, full-facility members.

Do you need to take your membership off hold? You can easily do so by filling out our form here.
We will be offering a variety of training to meet your needs and level. During the sessions, we will be following state guidelines for health and safety protocols.
As a Welcome Back Special, we are offering three 30-minute sessions for $99. The special is one-time use only and can be used by new personal training participants. MEET OUR TRAINERS
|Jennifer Donahue is the Health and Wellness Director at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. She began her fitness career as a group exercise instructor teaching cycle, HIIT, BOSU, Defend Together and Strength Train Together. Jennifer is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer. She is also a certified trainer for LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA. Jennifer believes there is no better feeling than helping members realize that fitness can not only improve their physical well-being but also their mental well-being.|
|Donna Peart is the Healthy Living Director at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. She holds her personal training certification through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) and focuses on whole body health, strength, endurance and fitness matters surrounding our aging population. Donna is also a group exercise instructor as well as a registered dietitian and runs our wellness programs such as the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, nutrition counseling and Weight Loss Program. “Strengthening and moving our bodies confidently as we age, as well as feeding ourselves what we need to help combat disease, is something we all can strive toward achieving to live our fullest lives,” Donna says.|
