The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is thrilled to reopen our indoor pool facilities to current, active members ages 14 and over for lap swimming, water walking and individual water fitness!
If your membership is currently on hold, you can take it off hold here. Prior to your initial return to our Y, active members also will need to e-sign our updated Membership Code of Conduct and Waiver. You can do so by clicking here.
We recently expanded the number of lap swimming lanes in use at one time and added specific times for water walking/individual water fitness. Now, six lanes are in use at one time (except when there are lanes in use for water walking/individual water fitness). Swimmers in lanes next to one another are asked to start at opposite ends of the pool to help adhere to social distancing guidelines.
All sessions are 60-minutes long, with time in between each session to allow for cleaning and sanitizing of the pool deck. Two members within the same household can share a lane. When registering, you can select to add a second person (age 14 and over) on your membership to swim during the same time.
To participate in lap swim, water walking and individual water fitness, members must register in advance. You can view the available time slots for the next thirteen (13) days and learn more about registering here.
In order to give all members a chance to enjoy the pool, please follow these guidelines for pool reservations:
- Please only schedule 3 lap swim/water walking sessions per week. This will give others who would like to swim the opportunity to find available times.
- If you cannot come to a scheduled appointment, please cancel the reservation as soon as possible. This will open up a spot for others who would like to swim. We prefer not to have empty lanes when other members could be swimming. You can cancel your reservation online through Acuity up to 2 hours before your scheduled time.
- If your plans change within 2 hours of your scheduled appointment, please call or email to let us know. We understand things change unexpectedly and that is okay. We just need to know if you are not coming at least 1 hour prior to your schedule appointment so we can give your spot to someone else. You can call the Welcome Center at 908-889-8880 during business hours (Monday–Friday 6:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 7:00am-12:00pm) or email Aquatics@fspymca.org to let us know you are not able to make the reservation.
- Spots do open up throughout the week so remember to check back frequently if you haven’t been able to reserve a spot.
In addition, we all have an important role to play in keeping our Y community safe. We have implemented some new policies and procedures in the interest of everyone’s health and safety.
