The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA has officially launched its Annual Fundraising Campaign, inviting the local community to come together in support of programs that promote health,
connection, and opportunity for all. Guided by this year’s theme, “A Stronger Community Starts With You,” the campaign highlights the powerful role neighbors play in uplifting one another.
Every day, individuals and families in the Fanwood-Scotch Plains community face unexpected challenges—from health crises to financial hardship. The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y remains committed to ensuring that no one is turned away due to inability to pay, providing vital financial assistance so everyone can access programs that support their well-being.
Over the past year, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA has made a meaningful local impact through its Financial Assistance Program, including:
- Providing $267,000 in financial assistance to 1,031 individuals and families
- Supporting 28 cancer survivors through the LiveSTRONG at the YMCA program, helping them regain strength and find community after treatment
- Empowering 219 teens through the free 7th Grade Initiative, building confidence and encouraging healthy habits
- Creating a screen-free summer experience for more than 3,000 campers, filled with friendship, growth, and discovery
- Teaching lifesaving swim and water safety skills to over 800 children and adults
- Offering wellness and social programs for more than 600 senior members, helping older adults stay active, engaged, and connected
Behind each of these numbers is a story—families finding hope, children building confidence, and neighbors supporting one another.
